HOW TO HAVE YOUTHFUL SKIN WITHOUT WRINKLES

Hi my lovelies,

I want to dedicate my post to a little something I like to call "the right kind of skincare".

Not long time ago I discovered a new way of treating my face to be glowing and soft like a baby tushy. What I found out is that the way you PUT your beauty products on your face has an immense impact on the result.

THE KEY IS MASSAGING YOUR PRODUCT TOWARD YOUR EARS

Why is that?
It actually showed in studies that rubbing your products in in circular movements causes your facial muscles to sag. So what you want to do is after putting on your beauty product, you make one single movement toward your ear, doesn't matter if you start on your cheeks or your forehead.
While doing so make sure to apply a little pressure.

Look at the pictures below to get a better understanding.

My first self-made statement necklace

Hello my lovelies,

today I was almost bored to tears and didn't quite know what to do with myself. Studying I couldn't get done, reading a book didn't quite cut it for me either, so I decided to tackle that idea I have been carrying around for a bit now: Making my own statement necklace.

With all the wool, buttons and unused necklaces which are laying around in our house you can imagine that I had enough material to do this.
It made a lot of fun and here is the result!

Study time at Starbucks and a few tips to get up early

Ahoi my lovelies,

if you're one of those poor schmoes who actually has to get studying done during Easter holiday, congratiolations- you probably have no social life, just like me.
A few weeks ago (and before that too) I started realising that I am wasting way too much time during the day, not using my ressources to their fully potential.
I made it a habit of mine to wake up really early these days, because you just get so much more done in the early morning. It's really incredible how good you feel after you seize the chance to do so, the feeling of accomplishment is just too good to ignore.
If you just can't manage to get up and your morning mood is just as bad as mine (I can literally start yelling if I'm being surrounded by too much sound) here are a great tips on how to get it done.

1. Prepare

No real fashionista is leaving her look to chance, and no student           should leave his future success to chance either. I used to be one of those slobs who would say "Nah, I'll pick my clothes in the morning". Trust me when I say that it will leave you in absolute abyss-like chaos. Just prepare the things you want towear the night before and also pack your stuff for school/university.
Preparation is half way to success.

2. Gradually

If you're notorious for waking up at 9 am you will fail 100% if you try waking up at 5 the next morning. That's too much to take on at once. Try to wake up 15 minutes earlier each day, and soon you will condition your body to work full steam in the morning.
Don't forget: It takes 21 days to form a habit.

3. Alarm

By now we all now how dangerous your phone can be if it's too close to your body. Putting it under your pillow will not save you from being exposed to radiation. Set your alarm and put it on your table. When it goes off in the morning think to yourself "This is my last call to accomplish something great", open your window wide and take a deep breath.

4. No compromising

You either get up or you don't. Do not bargain with yourself after you turn your alarm off. You will NOT work twice as hard after you wake up, no matter how hard you tell yourself.
Don't think, just get up.

5. Drink

We heard it before, water is essential, we need a lot of water, bla bla. What sounds like a played out line is still very true. We need water to function in literally any way, so drink up and drink a lot (don't overdo it, you can actually intoxicate yourself with water).
Water is a great way to go, so right after waking up chug down a big glass. Another way to go is green tea. I like to prepare a small bottle of cold green tea the day before and drink it right after waking up. Green tea is an allrounder. It helps you boost your metabolism real fast and it helped me a lot in my weight loss journey (blog post about my weight loss is coming up).

6. Dance time

After waking up I listen to Dj Okawari's Coffee break, this song is super soothing and puts me right into study mood. Pick a song which allows you to relax completely, because you will absorb much more information when your body is relaxed. You can give binaurial beats a shot for that matter.

7. No social media

In the mornings, avoid social media at all costs. You don't have to
see what Peter's dogs dug up again or where your ex boyfriend has
been partying last night. The morning belongs exclusively to yourself and overloading your brain with void stuff will keep you from being successful.

Try sticking to these tips and you'll see a great difference in your overall performance. Let me know in the comment section what you think of them and what you include in your morning routine. Looking forward to hear from you guys =)

When I head out to study what I always look forward to is dressing real comfy yet stylish. Here are a few Outfit ideas for a day at the library or at a Starbucks table (it's quite enjoyable to study at Starbucks!).

Moody April OOTD #1

Ahoi Lovelies,

moody ol' April is at it again- with temperatures below 10, heavy wind and ever changing clouds. Not a great time to go out outdoors?
Not if you live in Vienna though.
We used our short study break to walk around a little and good fortune was on our side with the weather.

There is this beautiful spot in the 9th district of Vienna which I like to call "Fishy mouth fountain spot". It's so peaceful there that I actually manage to relax completely, sitting on a bench, surrounded by birds chirping and leaves dancing.

I also had a chance had a chance to flaunt my outfit in those 5 minutes of sunshine (jk lol). I mashed it together on POLYVORE for you guys, so make sure to check that out also.

Here is a little variety I put together on POLYVORE.

Shrimps on veggie rice recipe

 Ingredients for 2 persons

great as school or university lunch

shrimps, salt and pepper, olive oil, a big onion, frozen veggies (I took peas and carrots), short grain rice, cherry tomatoes
This recipe is super simple and doesn't take long, but if you use frozen shrimps you have to count in an hour for defrosting (for that purpose, let them sit in a sieve at the sink)
First things first, cook the rice. For that, you take two cups of rice and for cups of water (thats a golden rule: you use two cups water on one cup rice)
Take a small pot, pour in the water and rice and add about a tablespoon salt.  Let it cook for about 15 minutes.
In the meantime get your veggies ready. What I do is I cook water in the electric kettle, and simply por the hot water in a bowl. Then I pour in the frozen veggies and let them sit until the rice is done half way through. After that I strain them through a sieve and add them to the rice.
Next chop up the onion. Make sure to cut really small quadratic pieces, as this might look more appealing than big uneven chunks
Take a pan, heat oil and pour in the chopped onions.Cook them until they are golden brown, then add the shrimps. Shrimps need to be sautéed, which means cooked for only a few minutes. Season them with salt and pepper, take the pan off the stove.
Now take a big bowl, pour in the veggie rice and shrimps. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and garnish your dish.
And VOILA, there you have a healthy lunch for any occasion.
ENJOY <3

HOW TO LIGHTEN YOUR HAIR FAST AND ALL NATURAL

Ahoi my lovelies!
My first DIY in this blog will be “How to naturally lighten your hair”

First off, I never had and hopefully never will dye my hair with your average hair colours.
Why?
For a number of reasons: commercial hair dye seems to really put a lot of damage to your hair. A lot of my friends with dyed hair seem to have only left a few strands of their once luscious locks, making them look like chicken which came out of a huge cat fight. With those few broken hair they can’t possibly look appealing, let aside feel good.
Another thing is that once you start dying, you have to do it ALL THE TIME! Not only does that leave you broke after a while but also a little paranoid since you don’t know when your hairline becomes inacceptable.

I had dark chocolate brown hair and currently have an ombre look with light caramel. I achieved my look by using stuff that you can find in any supermarket and your kitchen.

after the hydrogenperoxide DIY

Now, with my DIYs you can either lighten your hair, or make red hair look stronger and with a few tips even darken your hair, if that’s what you want. I had very good results with my DIYs, but please note that whatever you choose to do is at your own risk and that I am not responsible for your outcome whatsoever.

Now that we’re done with the disclaimer let’s get down to business.

STEP 1:  What is your current hair colour?

You’re

brown to black haired, going for blonde -> Hydrogen peroxide or lemon DIY
red haired, going for stronger colour -> cinnamon DIY
blonde, going for strawberry -> cinnamon DIY
blonde, going for even lighter -> Hydrogenperoxide or lemon DIY
light hair, going for darker -> tea DIY

Choose whichever is right for you and follow up on

STEP 2:  Make your DIY
A few hints beforehand: make sure to wear an old shirt when doing some of these DIYs, it may become pretty messy. Also, you do not need to wash your hair extra for a DIY, it’s actually better to do it on hair which hasn’t been washed for a few days (seems to work better)

Also don’t forget to ALWAYS condition your hair after every DIY, for it may become brittle if you don’t. If you don’t want to go through the trouble get yourself a little bottle of almond oil from the drug store (in Österreich kriegt man Mandelöl in jeder Apotheke J

If you know which DIY you want to go for, choose below and do as listed.

~ Cinnamon DIY

What you will need :

A bowl
Your favourite conditioner (mine is Aussie)
Ground cinnamon
Olive or almond oil
An old shirt
A kitchen brush
A few hair clippers

Put about 6 spoons of cinnamon into your bowl, add a few generours squirts of your conditioner, one spoon of olive or almond oil and mix very well. At the end you should have a gooey porridge which shouldnt be all too liquidy (it wont stick to your hair!)
When youre done mixing part your hair in the middle, take the kitchen brush, dip in and start at brushing it from top to bottom.
Do this until your hair is covered really good (DO NOT BRUSH THE GOO ON YOUR FACe! IT MIGHT BECOME ITCHY!)
Next take the clippers and clip your hair in tiny rolls, wrap a towel around it and let it sit in for about 8 hours.

With this method you might need 2 weeks to see a change, so I recommend doing this twice a week. It worked out just nicely for me!

~ Hydrogenperoxide DIY

What you need :
An empty spray bottle
Hydrogenperoxide 3%
Water
A towel

Now this method shows results within a matter of hours, even if your hair is dark.
You can find hydrogenperoxide in any drug store for about a dollar (für deutschsprachige Mädels: Wasserstoffperoxid gibt’s beim MÜLLER J
I had great results with this, but I also have to note that if you have dark hair and want to use this method you best have a silver shampoo at home. Hydrogen peroxide will turn your hair reddish, but if washed with silver shampoo you will have beautiful caramel shades. Also before applying it to your whole head take a strand which no one can see if your hair is normally open and test on it. If you like what you see you can proceed.

Take an empty (if possible dark spray bottle -> peroxide dissolves in light), fill half with water and add another half of peroxide. Shake well and start spraying on your hair.
When youre done your hair should be damp, not soaked. Wrap a towel around them and let it sit for about half an hour. After that wash as usual and dont forget to condition.

How I used the hydrogenperoxide :
My hair is originally pretty dark, so I didnt delude the hydrogenperoxide. Instead I used the 3% as it was and got good results.
You can do it like me if you want really big change, but if youre going for more subtle shades I recommend diluting it.

~ HOW TO DARKEN YOUR HAIR

Its not always about lightening your hair, you might want to have darker shades. In that case I recommend the tea DIY.
Just take a teabag of Earl Grey or classic black tea, pour hot water in your cup and let it sit for 20 minutes. Letting it sit for this long has a simple reason : it will stain your hair better.
Do this DIY when youre about to wash your hair. Shampoo and wash as usual and then rinse with the tea (please do not pour the boiling cup on your head...)
Not only will it give you nice dark shades, also your hair will smell delish and shine like gloss.

If you have any questions or suggestions comment and let me know!

HAVE FUN!
